Libby Yu is a brilliant pianist and experienced teacher, and is well-known and highly respected across Canada and particularly in the Lower Mainland. She was born and raised here, and did most of her training in Vancouver, including her Doctorate degree at UBC. She will be the soloist for this concert, then in March she will serve as adjudicator and Master Class clinician for our 6th Semi-Annual Pianos Galore event with the North Shore chapter of the RMTA. Her feature work will be the virtuosic and beautifully melodic Chopin Piano Concerto #2. Sinfonia will create an All-French programme by performing Maurice Ravel’s brilliant orchestration of his piano work, the Mother Goose Suite, as well as works by Berlioz and Gounod!
